Governance
The Chien Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees, who provide strategic oversight, stewardship, and guidance to ensure that the Foundation remains faithful to its mission and values. The Board is responsible for setting the overall direction of the Foundation, overseeing its programmes and financial stewardship, and ensuring that all activities are carried out with integrity, transparency, and accountability. Trustees bring with them diverse expertise in medicine, education, leadership, and regional collaboration, which collectively shape the Foundation’s work across the Asia Pacific region. The Foundation operates independently and is committed to the responsible use of its resources in advancing education, training, and mentorship in interventional cardiology. Day-to-day coordination and administration are supported by the Secretariat, working closely with the Board to implement approved initiatives and programmes. The Foundation has been solely funded by the late Mr. Teddy Chien, and with his passing, Mr. David Chien. The funds are applied solely towards the Foundation’s objects and are not distributable to any member (including the founder) of the Foundation. No member of the Foundation hold any beneficial interest in funds or receive remuneration.
